Some of My Favorite Books

From time to time I will post some of my favorite books and thoughts here.  As always, I look forward to hear your feedback and thoughts as well.

The Power by Rhonda Byrne, author of "The Secret"

If you liked "The Secret," you will LOVE this book.  I do.  In this book the author simplifies a process that can be used anywhere, anytime.  I recommend this book to anyone open to it's incredible gift.  I am reading it for the second time.  I find reading it slowly, one or two pages at a time, has been very beneficial. Let me know if you enjoy this book!

The Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman

I read this book by Dan Millman over 10 years ago, and it became the spring board to reading several of his books. I have never been disappointed.

Peaceful Warrior was one of those books that created a major turning point on my journey. I highly recommend it. It is fun to read. Dan Millman is a wonderful storyteller, and I think you will enjoy his use of fiction to lead us through and to so much great Wisdom.  Enjoy!

The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks

I have mentioned this book in my posts before. Use the search engine on my home engine to find these posts.  This is a great book about getting from where you are to where you want to be.  Gay Hendricks has a fresh approach, and there are sections that will really open you to thinking about things you may have never considered.  Let me know what you think!

The Artist Way by Julia Cameron

In this wonderful book, Julia Cameron, guides us through 12 weeks to reconnecting with the Artist Within.  I have read and reread this book getting more and more every time I read it.  I often refer to it with clients and participants, and over and over I receive great comments back on how grateful they are that they read the book.

Julia has written a number of books on writing and creativity since this book, and I have heard mixed reviews, but this one continues to be a great stand by.

Peace Is Every Step
The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life
by Thich Nhat Hanh

I was given this book for my 30th birthday by a dear friend and have referred back to it many times over the years.  That same friend referred to it just the other day and it prompted me to find it on my shelf.  It is one of those books that I feel better just holding.  It is a small, beautiful piece of writing that can be read over and over and still gain so much. Just opening it today and reading a few small passages reminded me of the peace I have felt over and over with this good friend (both the gift giver and the book :)

I am looking forward to reading it again and hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.

The Power of Now
by Eckhart Tolle

I have had Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now for years.  It has hit me in different ways over the years.  Recently it has spoken to my soul and made a hugely positive impact on my life.  It has been as if reading it again, it was finally written in a language I could understand - or perhaps I could finally understand the language in which it was written. (smile)  Reading and re-reading it has been a soothing elixir to my soul.

A New Earth
by Eckhart Tolle

I've added A New Earth to my library this year and it has had the same positive impact for me.  I like having these two books close to pick up, open randomly and read a few lines or paragraphs.  Thank you, Eckhart.
